On Monday of Passion Week Gwyneth began working on a commission for a Pietà with Saints John and Mary Magdalen. The first step was meeting with each model individually for a pencil or charcoal study. Each of these drawings was completed in under two hours. The completed Pietà will be about two feet high by four feet wide in oil on linen. It should be completed early this summer. After building a frame and stretching and preparing Belgian linen, Gwyneth blocked in the figures loosely from her preparatory studies. She has now begun the process of observing each model again to refine each figure.
